Driving with deeply soulful, powerful yet skilful vocals, London’s Emine is a travelling artist with a profoundly thoughtful and distinctive style.
Born in Istanbul but raised in the UK, a life spent touring called out early on. Now boasting 20 years of playing, both solo and with bands, Emine’s sound offers a finely honed level of professionalism and passion united.
Promising exciting yet emotive sets that uniquely blend elements of blues, folk, psychedelic rock and arabesque, her shows have already taken her from the UK to France, Argentina, Turkey, Denmark, the US and South America. A global artist by all accounts, Emine lives and breathes the musician’s lifestyle.
In her time, Emine has worked as a backing vocalist for artists like Valerie June, Lissie, and Joan as Police Woman. She also released two albums with her band Sister Mary and the Choirboys, which ran from 2002 to 2013, with extensive touring along the way – further igniting her passion for the road; and her ability and presence as a performer.
From the vast diversity of London’s numerous music scenes, to the global stages that have welcomed and embraced her, Emine’s performances prove unconfined by genre or expectation. Leading with relentless creative freedom, her quickly engaging sets introduce an artist who undeniably comes alive when on the stage.

Backed with a Masters Degree in Popular Music, from Goldsmiths College, and having featured on a plethora of projects from film soundtracks to well-known albums, experience and dedication meet with unwavering talent – bringing music fans one of 2023’s most authentic and unmissable acts.
Now focusing on her debut album as a solo artist, Emine’s songwriting delves into her own experiences as a travelling musician with a life spent exploring the world. Her original songs present a level of maturity and wonder, conveyed in waves of soulful, creatively expressive melodies and considerately framed ideas. Set for release in 2023, the project will coincide with Emine’s extensive tour from South America to Europe and her native country of Turkey.
